A really weird one this one. You've got this pizza fast food chain not known for their chips that suddenly offers a poutine with curd cheese. WHAT THE FUCK!?? HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE as curd cheese is nowhere else. That's exceptional but the poutine itself is less than exceptional. The chips are probably re-heated in the pizza oven instead of being fried in the restaurant and the brown gravy is way too similar to convenient store cheap meat pies filling. I'd bet it was cheap meat pie filling which doesn't work on chips for a poutine. But you know what, the curd cheese was perfect. I still can't believe that a fast food franchise in Australia offered a poutine with curd cheese. I wish they come back with an improved recipe in the future.

It's a real opinion of a real meal bought in a restaurant but not all restaurants labelled the meal as being a poutine and it's all in the spirit of discovery and fun. Some labelled the dish as "loaded fries" or simply with the ingredients "Chips, Gravy & Cheese". I wish everyone would try every poutine and all the close variations. For any chef or worries restaurant owner the best solution is still to do more research on poutine, its origin and the existing variations in Quebec. Otherwise the "loaded fries" label is a very polite way to tell that you're not going to have curd cheese, for example, even if it won't prevent a Quebecois from thinking about poutine while eating loaded fries.
